Deck overview

This Sultai deck is led by Thranduil, the Elvenking, who absorbs all activated abilities of Elf cards resting in your graveyard. The primary strategy uses focused graveyard tutoring through cards like Buried Alive and Entomb to place Devoted Druid, Immaculate Magistrate, and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord directly into the graveyard. Once Thranduil untaps on turn 5, he uses Immaculate Magistrate's ability to place +1/+1 counters on himself, then removes them via Devoted Druid's untap ability. Because +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters cancel out, this creates an infinite loop that produces infinite green mana and infinite power across your creatures. Thranduil then uses Jarad's activated ability to sacrifice a creature with arbitrarily large power, instantly draining each opponent of their entire life total in a single turn. If the commander is answered, the deck seamlessly transitions into a potent Elfball overrun plan powered by Lathril, Blade of the Elves and Tyvar, the Pummeler.
