Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Izzet spellslinger and token tempo build helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary game plan revolves around exploiting spells with high printed mana values that feature built-in cost reduction—such as Delve cards like Temporal Trespass, Treasure Cruise, and Dig Through Time, or discount spells like Blasphemous Act and Furygale Flocking. By casting these spells for only one to three mana, Rootha creates massive 8/8 to 11/11 Elemental tokens with flying and haste during combat. The deck accelerates this aerial clock using token multipliers like Determined Iteration, Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Redoubled Stormsinger, and Rionya, Fire Dancer, as well as combat enhancers like Surge to Victory. A balanced suite of counterspells, spot removal, and sweepers provides defensive flexibility while digging through the library.
