Deck overview

This deck is a high-speed competitive Mardu combo deck helmed by Celes, Rune Knight. It leverages an explosive fast mana suite and universal tutors to execute compact game-winning lines as early as Turns 2 to 3. The primary win condition utilizes Celes's triggered ability alongside a persist creature (Putrid Goblin, Lesser Masticore, or Murderous Redcap) and a sacrifice outlet (Goblin Bombardment or Altar of Dementia). When a persist creature dies, it returns with a -1/-1 counter, triggering Celes to place a +1/+1 counter on it; the opposing counters cancel out, generating an infinite sacrifice and enter loop. Alternatively, the deck can storm off with Ad Nauseam, Peer into the Abyss, or Underworld Breach. A premier suite of proactive protection spells, including Silence, Grand Abolisher, and Ranger-Captain of Eos, ensures the deck can execute its combos while locking out opposing interaction.
