Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai Legendary Wizard Spellslinger archetype commanded by Gandalf, Party Guest. The deck's primary game plan revolves around deploying low-cost legendary Wizards in the early turns to build board presence and scale Gandalf's combat trigger. Once Gandalf enters on Turn 4, the deck begins casting instant and sorcery spells for free at the beginning of each combat step, ramping up from mid-game card draw spells like Distant Melody to game-ending bombs like Insurrection, Call Forth the Tempest, and Mnemonic Deluge on Turn 6. Asymmetric sweepers like Urza's Ruinous Blast and Raise the Palisade clear opposing boards while leaving your legendary Wizard army untouched. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents through mass combat damage buffed by Balmor, Battlemage Captain, Adeliz, the Cinder Wind, and Akroma's Will, or by stealing opposing creature boards with Insurrection.
