Liberation of Ba Sing Se by Knurlnien

Format: Commander

Commander: Iroh, Grand Lotus

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Temur Lessons midrange deck helmed by Iroh, Grand Lotus that pairs spellslinger value with an earthbend combat payoff. Iroh turns the graveyard into a second hand: non-Lesson instants and sorceries gain flashback for their mana cost, and every Lesson flashes back for a flat 1. The deck fills the yard with loot and Lessons, then replays removal, ramp, and selection at a steep discount while earthbending lands into hasty bodies. Primary wins come from combat-Toph, Greatest Earthbender giving land creatures double strike, Bumi, Unleashed untapping lands and granting an extra combat for those lands, and large earthbend triggers from Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender and Rockalanche. Secondary paths include token floods via Mascot Exhibition and decisive pumps from Overwhelming Victory. The deck plays as a resilient value engine that grinds through interaction and closes with oversized land creatures.
