Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and combo strategy led by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. It pairs defensive pillowfort enchantments, targeted interaction, and card-draw engines with a lethal two-card infinite combo in Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank. In the early turns, the deck sets up its mana, establishes defensive barriers like Propaganda and Ghostly Prison, and deploys Bloodchief Ascension to begin accumulating quest counters through combat damage, desert pings, or Y'shtola's 2-damage ability on mana value 3+ noncreature spells. Once Bloodchief Ascension has three counters and Mindcrank is in play, any life loss or card mill immediately creates a looping trigger chain that drains all opponents' life totals and empties their libraries simultaneously. If the primary combo is disrupted, the deck pivots smoothly into an alternate mill attrition plan utilizing Bruvac the Grandiloquent, Psychic Corrosion, and Sphinx's Tutelage to deplete opposing libraries.
