Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Lifegain Control-Combo strategy helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. Oloro provides guaranteed life buffer from the command zone starting on Turn 1 without ever needing to enter the battlefield. The deck converts this steady life total into card advantage through powerful draw engines like Necropotence, The One Ring, and Black Market Connections. It slows down aggressive and storm-based opponents using efficient disruption, including Blind Obedience, Authority of the Consuls, and Rule of Law, while holding a dense counterspell suite featuring Force of Will, Mana Drain, and Dovin's Veto. Victory is achieved by tutoring into game-ending two-card infinite combos, primarily Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity, as well as the Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista loop. These combos finish all three opponents simultaneously upon resolution.
