This Esper spellslinger control deck is commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. It converts mid-cost noncreature spells into table-wide life drain and card advantage. The strategy controls the board during early turns using efficient mana rocks, tax enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, and flexible instant-speed removal such as Void Rend and Disallow. Once Y'shtola is assembled on Turn 4, casting noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater burns each opponent for 2 damage, gains life, and triggers extra card draw on end steps. The deck establishes a critical must-answer clock on Turn 6 using high-threat permanents like Liesa, Shroud of Dusk or Jin-Gitaxias // The Great Synthesis, eventually closing the game on Turn 8 via combined attrition damage, unblockable attacks from Hraesvelgr of the First Brood, or a large Exsanguinate.
