Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu aggressive cheat strategy commanded by Kaalia of the Vast. The main game plan focuses on casting Kaalia by Turn 4, protecting her with cheap equipment or utility creatures, and declaring an attack on Turn 5 to cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. The creature package combines rapid damage multipliers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Archfiend of Despair, combat chainers like Aurelia, the Warleader and Bloodthirster, and asymmetric stax beaters like Angelic Arbiter and Archfiend of Depravity. While the deck threatens lethal combat steps very quickly once Kaalia swings, it relies heavily on her survival. A high density of tapped lands and high average mana values make the deck vulnerable to well-timed spot removal against Kaalia before she attacks, requiring careful deployment of protection pieces.
