Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Michelangelo, the Heart and Splinter, the Mentor to lead a midrange aggressive strategy focused on +1/+1 counters, token generation, and combat pressure. Both commanders cost two mana, allowing rapid deployment on early turns. Michelangelo provides reliable board modification by placing +1/+1 counters and generating Food tokens whenever you attack. Splinter turns dying creatures into Mutagen tokens, which store additional counters for later turns. The deck converts these counters and tokens into card advantage through engines like Terrasymbiosis, High Score, and Ice Cream Kitty. Mid-game threats like Rocksteady, Mutant Marauder and Arcade Cabinet rapidly expand board power, leading into decisive high-cost threats such as Shredder, Shadow Master, Leatherhead, Iron Gator, and Vigor. While the deck features flexible spot removal and instant-speed hexproof protection, it relies entirely on fair combat damage across multiple attack steps rather than infinite combos or hard locks.
