Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Ygra, Eater of All as both a devastating board-control centerpiece and a rapidly scaling Voltron threat. The primary game plan accelerates early mana through green land-ramp sorceries, establishing five mana by Turn 4 to deploy Ygra. Once in play, Ygra turns all other creatures into Food artifacts. On Turn 5, the deck breaks game symmetry by resolving low-cost artifact sweepers like Seeds of Innocence, Creeping Corrosion, or Fade from History. These spells obliterate opposing creatures and artifact mana while leaving Ygra intact and ballooning its power to lethal levels through death triggers. The deck quickly refills its hand using power-based draw spells like Return of the Wildspeaker and Rishkar's Expertise, or death engines like Viridian Revel. Ygra then systematically eliminates opponents with lethal commander damage over two combat cycles, supported by evasive utility lands and repeated edict attrition.
