Br. 2 Drawing a Sphinx by user1708639

Format: Commander

Commander: Arjun, the Shifting Flame

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Izzet draw-matters spell-chainer built around Arjun, the Shifting Flame, whose wheel-on-every-cast ability is the deck's entire card-velocity engine. The primary path to victory is converting draws into table-wide damage: Psychosis Crawler and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind turn every Arjun wheel into life loss, and draw doublers like Alhammarret's Archive, Teferi's Ageless Insight, Thought Reflection, Vnwxt, Verbose Host, and Reed Richards, Smartest Man multiply the payload of each chained spell enormously. Draw-matters beaters - Toothy, Imaginary Friend, Chasm Skulker, Body of Knowledge, and Ominous Seas - form a combat backup plan, while Laboratory Maniac backed by a large Stroke of Genius or Pull from Tomorrow provides an alternate instant-speed win. A dense counter/bounce suite protects the commander and answers opponent's spells, and roughly a dozen mana rocks keep the expensive engine and payoffs coming down on time.
