Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast leads an aggressive creature-cheat deck designed to bypass the steep mana costs of powerful Angels, Demons, and Dragons. The game plan focuses on deploying early two-mana ramp artifacts to cast Kaalia on turn three or four. Once Kaalia attacks, she puts massive threats like Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Sephara, Sky's Blade directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. A secondary reanimation package with Animate Dead, Victimize, and Unburial Rites provides resilience against removal by recurring discarded or destroyed bombs. The deck utilizes efficient Mardu spot removal like Swords to Plowshares and Generous Gift to answer opposing threats while relying on protective spells like Boros Charm and Lightning Greaves to keep Kaalia attacking. While heavily reliant on its commander and vulnerable to targeted interaction, the deck closes games swiftly through overwhelming aerial combat damage.
