Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an optimized aristocrats and reanimator strategy piloted by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. It establishes rapid mana acceleration using one-drop mana elves and early tutors, using the graveyard as an accessible secondary hand. The core game plan seeks to either grind opponents down through asymmetric sacrifice attrition—looping Plaguecrafter, Accursed Marauder, and Grave Pact—or assemble a game-ending Protean Hulk sequence. When sacrificed, Protean Hulk fetches Warren Soultrader, Blood Artist, and Gravecrawler to drain the entire table in an instant. The commander provides persistent end-step card recursion, ensuring continuous board presence even through removal. While resilient against traditional creature combat and spot removal, the list is vulnerable to instant-speed graveyard hate and dedicated counterspells, relying on tight sequencing and proactive resource denial to secure victory.
