Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Jeskai aggro strategy commanded by Aragorn, King of Gondor. The game plan revolves around flooding the battlefield with Human creatures and tokens using resilient generators such as Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon, and Éowyn, Shieldmaiden. Once a board is established, casting Aragorn on Turn 4 introduces the monarch mechanic. Because Aragorn makes all opposing creatures unable to block whenever he attacks as the monarch, the deck completely ignores opposing blockers, creature trades, and combat walls. Damage multipliers such as Shared Animosity, Warleader's Call, and Purphoros, God of the Forge convert this evasion into lethal burst damage. The deck is reinforced by an exceptional suite of zero- and low-cost protection spells, including Teferi's Protection, Clever Concealment, Flawless Maneuver, and Flare of Fortitude, allowing the pilot to overextend safely into sweepers and close the game across Turns 5 and 6.
