Deck overview

This Esper deck leverages the eminence ability of The Ur-Sphinx to reduce the casting cost of high-impact flying Sphinxes right from the command zone. Supported by cheap artifact acceleration and dedicated cost reducers such as Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn, the deck accelerates out game-defining creatures ahead of curve. The central engine revolves around explosive card advantage engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Kindred Discovery, and Consecrated Sphinx, which rapidly restock the hand with threats and interaction. Defensive pillowfort enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda stall ground-based aggro, buying time to establish a dominant air presence. Asymmetric board sweepers including Raise the Palisade, Kindred Dominance, and Kindred Judgment clear opposing boards without touching your own Sphinxes. Victory is achieved through overwhelming aerial combat damage, accelerated by catastrophic life-setting effects like Magister Sphinx or extra turns from Medomai the Ageless, while efficient counterspells and targeted removal safeguard the board from opposing win attempts.
