Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Orzhov lifegain midrange and combo strategy piloted by Karlov of the Ghost Council. In the opening turns, low-cost lifegain triggers from Soul Sisters and tax permanents rapidly pump Karlov, creating an imposing early combat threat and a repeatable creature-exile engine that keeps opposing boards in check. Behind this aggressive defensive screen, the deck deploys card advantage engines and low-cost ramp to assemble compact, game-ending two-card combos. The primary win condition is Heliod, Sun-Crowned paired with Walking Ballista, supported by a secondary infinite drain combo in Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Exquisite Blood. High-density protection pieces like Voice of Victory, Ranger-Captain of Eos, and Flare of Fortitude ensure that combo turns are securely shielded from opposing interaction.
