Deck overview

This Dimir tempo deck is commanded by Alela, Cunning Conqueror, focusing on an interactive 'draw-go' playstyle that capitalizes on casting spells during opponents' turns. By holding up mana for flexible interaction, flash creatures, and cantrips, the deck repeatedly triggers Alela to build a wide army of 1/1 flying Faerie Rogue tokens. These tokens apply continuous chip damage in the air while using Alela's combat damage trigger to goad dangerous opposing creatures, effectively forcing opponents to attack each other and clear defensive lines. Mid-game card engines like Wavebreak Hippocamp and Nymris keep the hand fully stocked with countermagic and removal. The deck closes out games through kindred combat overruns using cards like Shadow Puppeteers, Glen Elendra Liege, and Door of Destinies to turn small flying swarms into lethal attackers.
