Deck overview

Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm is a mono-black Rat Colony aggro deck. The primary plan is to flood the board with Rat Colony copies and 1/1 Rat tokens, then attack with Ashcoat so every other Rat gets a large +X/+X pump. Ashcoat's end-step mill also cycles Rats from the graveyard back to hand, acting as a repeatable draw/recursion engine. Secondary paths are Thrumming Stone ripple-chaining free Rat Colony casts and Marrow-Gnawer's token explosion. Rat King, Verminister works as a hidden commander, returning whole groups of Rat Colonies from the graveyard. Finishers come from mass lords and memorial effects rather than a combo.
