Deck overview

This deck is a focused mono-black aggro swarm strategy built around 21 copies of Rat Colony and commanded by Rat King, Verminister. The primary game plan curves out early with fast mana and cost reducers such as Jet Medallion, Bontu's Monument, and Herald's Horn to deploy multiple Rat Colony creatures each turn. Because each Rat Colony buffs the power of every other Rat on the board, the creature swarm quickly reaches lethal damage thresholds by Turn 5. High-impact tribal multipliers like Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, Marrow-Gnawer, and Coat of Arms provide massive damage amplification and evasion, while Thrumming Stone can deploy nearly the entire colony in a single turn via ripple. Rat King, Verminister ensures excellent resilience by generating token fodder and reanimating all copies of Rat Colony from the graveyard following sweepers.
