OZAI by jackieapprovedmtg

Format: Commander

Commander: Ozai, the Phoenix King

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Ozai, the Phoenix King is a red-mana bank and extra-combat commander. The main plan is to accelerate into him with rituals and rocks, attack to bank four red via firebending, then pair him with Avatar Roku, Firebender (plus the transformed Legend of Roku) and Aggravated Assault-style effects. Each extra combat becomes mana-positive, financing many combat phases and a kill via commander damage or an X spell. Secondary paths use Ashling, Electro, Leyline Tyrant, and treasure/dragon beatdown. Ozai's role is to retain mana and provide a 7-power hasty attacker; Avatar Roku is the hidden commander, turning every attack into six extra red mana. The deck is explosive but commander-centric and weak to enchantment-based hate.
