Deck overview

This deck utilizes Codie, Ravenous Codex as a 5-color engine commander to exploit the Prepare mechanic alongside potent Magecraft payoffs. The game plan focuses on establishing mana fixing in the early turns, casting Codie, Ravenous Codex, and deploying creatures with powerful Prepare spell backsides such as Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall and Emeritus of Woe // Demonic Tutor. Once Codie, Ravenous Codex activates its {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} ability, it prepares every creature on the battlefield. Casting these prepared spells triggers Codie's automatic duplication ability. In tandem with Storm-Kiln Artist for Treasure generation and Archmage Emeritus or Vega, the Watcher for card draw, each cast becomes mana-positive and card-positive. The turn culminates in a storm sequence that drains the entire table through Witherbloom Apprentice or an overloaded Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate. Robust interaction, modular charms, and defensive spells like Heroic Intervention and Teferi's Protection keep the engine safe until the storm turn executes.
