Deck overview

This deck is a classic Orzhov Aristocrats engine led by Teysa Karlov. Its strategy revolves around establishing a three-part engine consisting of sacrifice outlets, expendable creature fodder, and death-trigger drain permanents. Teysa Karlov amplifies this engine by doubling every death trigger, doubling drain damage, card draw, and token creation from death effects. The deck assembles its core pieces on curve by Turn 4 and reaches critical onset on Turn 5 with high-impact enablers such as Grave Pact, Pitiless Plunderer, or Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. These engines systematically strip opposing creature boards while draining life totals across the table. Supported by heavy functional redundancy and premier tutors, the deck reliably closes games around Turn 7. Its main vulnerabilities stem from reliance on graveyard recursion and board-based permanents, making it susceptible to exile-based sweepers and targeted graveyard hate.
