Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Ninjutsu and combat-attrition strategy helmed by Satoru Umezawa. The primary game plan focuses on deploying cheap, evasive creatures like Bilbo, Luckwearer and The Wondrous Wasp on early turns, followed by resolving Satoru on Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck activates Satoru's universal ninjutsu ability for {2}{U}{B} to cheat high-impact threats—such as Fallen Shinobi, Duplicant, or Commander Greven il-Vec—directly into combat while triggering Satoru's Anticipate-style card selection. A complementary discard and attrition package featuring Waste Not, Bottomless Pit, and Narset, Parter of Veils restricts opposing card advantage and converts discards into mana, tokens, or life loss. The deck lacks infinite combos or mass burn, instead closing out games through progressive combat damage and attrition across multiple turns, culminating in a Turn 9 finish. Graveyard recursion pieces like Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist and Reanimate provide backup lines when primary threats are disrupted.
