Deck overview

This deck leverages Firkraag, Cunning Instigator at the helm of an Izzet Goad Control and Dragon Beatdown strategy. The game plan accelerates mana in the early turns using efficient mana rocks, deploying Firkraag or dedicated goad enablers by Turn 4. Firkraag attacks immediately due to haste, goading high-value opposing creatures. As opponents are forced to attack one another, Firkraag triggers to draw cards and accumulate +1/+1 counters, creating a compounding card-advantage and size engine. The deck protects its board with premium free interaction including Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat. Mid-to-late game turns capitalize on the attrition suffered by opponents by deploying powerful Dragons such as Ancient Copper Dragon, Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest, and Bonehoard Dracosaur. A clean infinite combo between Astral Dragon and Cursed Mirror provides an instant table kill, while an overloaded Cyclonic Rift easily clears the way for a decisive combat finish by Turn 7.
