Deck overview

This deck leverages Xyris, the Writhing Storm to convert symmetrical card-draw and wheel effects into an overwhelming, asymmetric board presence. By accelerating into Xyris on Turn 4, the pilot can cast a wheel like Windfall or Winds of Change on Turn 5, forcing three opponents to draw cards and instantly creating 21 or more 1/1 Snake tokens. The deck converts this sudden token swarm into victory through enter-the-battlefield burn such as Purphoros, God of the Forge and Impact Tremors, or through massive combat damage powered by Shared Animosity. A robust suite of low-cost counterspells and hexproof protection spells safeguards Xyris during critical casting windows. While giving opponents seven fresh cards can occasionally supply them with answers, the deck's high card velocity, redundant wheel spells, and explosive mana engines make it a resilient and fast-closing midrange combo-aggro deck.
