Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages 22 copies of Shadowborn Apostle alongside Athreos, God of Passage to create a fast, redundant aristocrat toolbox. Early turns focus on deploying Apostles and low-cost ramp. By Turn 4, the deck sacrifices 6 Apostles to tutor high-impact Demons directly onto the battlefield, notably Valgavoth, Terror Eater for graveyard theft and protection, or Archfiend of Despair for burst life loss. Athreos turns every sacrifice into a painful choice for opponents: pay 3 life per trigger or let the Apostle return to hand for immediate redeployment. Thrumming Stone acts as an explosive primary finisher by cascading through the library to deploy all remaining Apostles in a single turn. While vulnerable to early creature sweepers, the deck maintains high recovery through its dense creature count, evasive Demon threats, and resilient commander.
