R/W Dwarves - Hobbit by DizzyPip

Format: Commander

Commander: Thorin Oakenshield

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Boros Dwarf tribal deck helmed by Thorin Oakenshield, built around the *storied* mechanic and a dense swarm of legendary Dwarves, Equipment, and token generation. The primary game plan is to establish an *enduring story* (controlling three or more artifacts, legendaries, and/or Sagas) to unlock global ward {1} from the commander and additional payoffs from other Dwarf legends. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage, leveraging anthems like Cathars' Crusade and Vanquisher's Banner, token doublers such as Anointed Procession, and burst finishers like Balin, Loremaster (discard-hand-draw-X-damage) or Dain of the Ancient Halls (damage equal to Dwarf count). Equipment support (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Basilisk Collar) protects key creatures and provides utility. The deck is a midrange tribal strategy that aims to out-value opponents through repeated Dwarf ETBs and treasure generation, closing games with a wide, pumped board.
