Deck overview

This deck is a competitive tempo-combo deck commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary plan leverages cheap, unblockable 1-drop creatures to cheat Yuriko into play on Turn 2 via Commander ninjutsu. This provides uncounterable deployment, avoids the commander tax, and generates early card advantage while dealing burn damage to all opponents. The deck rapidly digs toward its primary win condition: casting Thassa's Oracle followed by Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact to exile the library and win on the spot. Backing this strategy is a premier suite of free counterspells, including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, Flare of Denial, and Pact of Negation. Potent asymmetric stax pieces such as Opposition Agent, Grafdigger's Cage, and Vexing Bauble stifle opposing combos, while high-mana burn spells like Shadow of Mortality provide a lethal secondary damage clock.
