Deck overview

This mono-red spellslinger deck centers on Nico Minoru, Runaway, turning impulse draw and casting cards from exile or the graveyard into direct burn damage against the entire table. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using efficient mana rocks, rituals, and engine permanents like Birgi, God of Storytelling, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Ruby Medallion. On Turn 4, it deploys its commander or a secondary engine piece to begin churning through cards. On Turn 5, the deck launches an explosive storm turn by resolving high-yield rituals such as Jeska's Will or Mana Geyser and recurring spells via Underworld Breach or Past in Flames. Chaining 15 to 20 spells from exile and the graveyard triggers Nico Minoru repeatedly, dealing lethal burn across all three opponents in a single decisive turn. Supporting redirection spells and Hexing Squelcher provide protection during the critical closing window.
