Deck overview

This mono-black deck runs a focused Aristocrats strategy commanded by Liliana, Heretical Healer. The primary game plan revolves around generating sacrificial creature fodder, feeding those creatures into low-cost sacrifice outlets, and weaponizing their deaths through drain payoffs and card-draw engines. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using premier black rituals like Dark Ritual and explosive lands like Lake of the Dead and Phyrexian Tower. It rapidly searches out its pieces using top-tier tutors such as Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Buried Alive. While Liliana, Defiant Necromancer provides steady hand disruption and creature recursion, the deck closes games via same-turn infinite drain loops featuring Gravecrawler or Forsaken Miner combined with Warren Soultrader or Phyrexian Altar and death-trigger drains. Dense reanimation spells grant excellent recovery after sweepers, though the deck remains susceptible to graveyard hate and stack interaction.
