Deck overview

This is a midrange Abzan life-swap reanimator deck helmed by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The plan mills and tutors creatures into the graveyard, then reanimates high-impact threats while converting life gain and life loss into board growth and recursion via Betor's end-step triggers. Aristocrat drains (Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, Zulaport Cutthroat, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose) and haymakers (Archon of Cruelty, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Jumbo Cactuar, Gray Merchant of Asphodel) close games. Secondary engines include K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth life-as-mana, Bolas's Citadel, Hermit Druid dredge, and mass reanimation with Living Death. Betor is a powerful recursive engine but not required-the 99 already contains a full reanimation and drain suite-so the deck functions cleanly without it.
