Deck overview

This Grixis deck helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord is a value-driven midrange strategy that leverages the Ring tempts mechanic and amass to generate overwhelming card advantage and board presence. The primary game plan involves casting Sauron early, using his ward ability to protect him, and triggering his draw-four ability through Army combat damage. The deck supports this with a dense package of Ring tempts enablers (six Nazgul, Call of the Ring, Scroll of Isildur) and amass cards that grow an Army into a lethal threat. Secondary win conditions include the infinite life-drain combo of Sanguine Bond + Bloodthirsty Conqueror or Enduring Tenacity, and extra turns via Time Sieve by sacrificing five artifacts. The deck also features a Wraith subtheme with Lord of the Nazgul creating tokens on instant/sorcery casts. Overall, it aims to grind out value through card draw and life drain while assembling a combo or overwhelming combat damage.
