Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Tsagan, Raider Warlord at the helm of an aggressive, combat-focused stax shell. The strategy hinges on deploying low-mana hatebears and first-strike creatures on Turns 1 and 2 to disrupt opponents' early mana acceleration and spell chaining. On Turn 3, Tsagan enters the battlefield to convert wide boards into massive damage outputs. When Tsagan attacks, every creature with first strike or double strike amplifies the entire team's power, allowing modest 1-drops to swing for massive damage while advancing the Speed mechanic toward Max Speed. High-impact stax pieces such as Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Thalia, Heretic Cathar keep opposing combo and control strategies suppressed, ensuring combat lanes remain clear. Backed by free protective spells like Deflecting Swat and Flawless Maneuver, the deck applies unrelenting pressure, steadily eliminating opponents between Turns 4 and 6.
