Deck overview

Captain N'ghathrod leads a Dimir Horror tribal deck focused on aggressive milling and persistent graveyard theft. The strategy accelerates through early mana rocks and low-curve mill engines like Hedron Crab, Mesmeric Orb, and Zellix, Sanity Flayer to seed opposing graveyards. On Turn 4, casting the commander grants Horrors menace, allowing attacks to connect reliably, trigger combat mill, and resurrect the premier creature or artifact from an opponent's milled cards at your end step. The deck compounds this board advantage through devastating midgame threats such as Consuming Aberration, Guiltfeeder, and Toxrill, the Corrosive, while utilizing mass mill sorceries like Maddening Cacophony and Breach the Multiverse to overwhelm opposing resources. Supported by interactive countermagic, targeted removal, and asymmetric sweepers like Crippling Fear and Kindred Dominance, the deck reliably converts multi-angle graveyard pressure into decisive combat damage and library depletion around Turn 8.
