Deck overview

This mono-black control deck uses Avacyn, Angel of Horror to convert creature sacrifice effects into a recurring board-control engine. The game plan focuses on hitting land drops and deploying mana rocks to cast Avacyn at eight mana, then pairing her with edict creatures like Accursed Marauder and Plaguecrafter. Because Avacyn returns nontoken creatures that died under your control at the beginning of the next end step, sacrificing an edict creature causes it to re-enter during the next player's end step, establishing a continuous sacrifice loop across all four turns in a table rotation. Supporting pieces like Morbid Opportunist and High-Society Hunter turn these death triggers into massive card advantage, while Bastion of Remembrance and Zulaport Cutthroat drain opponent life totals alongside 8-power flying commander attacks. The deck thoroughly suppresses creature-based strategies, though its high mana requirements and lack of noncreature removal leave clear interaction windows for opponents.
