Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis amass midrange strategy built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. It leverages an efficient 2-CMC mana rock package to deploy Sauron on Turn 4 or 5. Once on the battlefield, Sauron's passive ability amasses an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells, while his formidable 7/6 stat line and legendary sacrifice Ward tax make him difficult to remove profitably. In combat, connecting with an Army triggers the Ring tempting mechanic, enabling Sauron to discard remaining cards and draw four fresh cards each turn cycle. This rapid card replenishment fuels a steady stream of equipment, evasive lands like The Black Gate, and high-impact Vehicles such as Reaver Titan. The deck wins through crushing combat pressure across Turns 6 to 8, supported by flash hate pieces like Opposition Agent and Notion Thief to disrupt opposing game plans.
