Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros combat and burn strategy built around Lightning, Army of One. Lightning combines first strike, trample, and lifelink with her signature Stagger ability, which doubles all damage dealt to an opponent and their permanents until your next turn after she deals combat damage to them. The deck accelerates into Lightning using low-cost mana rocks, equips her with haste and protection tools like Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves, and connects on early turns. Once an opponent is staggered, the deck exploits the damage multiplication through double-strike buffs, direct burn spells like Lightning Bolt, and massive damage engines like Heartless Hidetsugu and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight. The deck protects its aggressive board with versatile defensive instants including Boros Charm and Restoration Magic while clearing obstacles with efficient spot removal and Blasphemous Act. It reliably applies lethal pressure by Turn 5 and eliminates the table in sequential combat steps by Turn 7.
