Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Aristocrats and Reanimator build designed to grind out opponents through incremental life drain, recursive creatures, and asymmetric attrition. Commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck does not rely on its 8-mana commander to function, instead establishing an independent low-curve engine on Turns 1 through 4 using sacrifice outlets like Woe Strider and Ayara, First of Locthwain alongside recurring creatures such as Gravecrawler and Reassembling Skeleton. On Turn 5, the deck transitions into a lethal threat state by deploying high-impact payoffs like Syr Konrad, the Grim, Vein Ripper, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Asymmetric resource denial from Tergrid, God of Fright, The Darkness Crystal, and edict effects punishes opposing boards while fueling steady card advantage through Braids, Arisen Nightmare and Grim Haruspex. The game concludes around Turn 8 through cumulative drain loops and reanimation.
