Squirrels by SpagNoodle

Format: Commander

Commander: Chatterfang, Squirrel General

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Squirrel-token swarm build led by Chatterfang, Squirrel General. The primary game plan is to generate an overwhelming number of 1/1 green Squirrel tokens while leveraging Chatterfang's passive that doubles all token creation (adding an extra Squirrel token for each other token made). A dense package of token generators - from one-mana sorceries like Chatterstorm to repeatable engines like Squirrel Nest and Chitterspitter - quickly floods the board. Anthem effects such as Deep Forest Hermit, Beastmaster Ascension, and Squirrel Sovereign then turn the swarm lethal. Secondary reach comes from drain effects like Bastion of Remembrance and Mirkwood Bats, which convert creature deaths into life loss for the whole table. The deck has a single realizable infinite combo (via the registered line with Scurry Oak plus a +1/+1 counter engine) but tutor access is thin, so that line is unreliable. Overall, the deck wins through combat inevitability and attrition.
