Deck overview

Under Szarel, Genesis Shepherd, this is a Jund lands-matter value deck that treats the graveyard as a second library. Szarel's key ability-playing lands from the graveyard-is supported by a deep redundancy package in the 99: Ramunap Excavator, Ancient Greenwarden, Exploration Broodship, and Soul of Windgrace all do the same work, while his sacrifice trigger turns the deck's many land-sacrifice outlets into repeatable pump for one crucial attacker. The deck ramps hard, fills the graveyard with fetches, Harrow, Dakmor Salvage, and dredge effects, then floods the board with landfall payoffs like Avenger of Zendikar, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Scute Swarm, and Ob Nixilis, the Fallen. Games end through one massive land-recursion turn: Splendid Reclamation or Reshape the Earth reanimates a critical mass of lands, Moraug, Fury of Akoum chains extra combats, and Prior-turn tokens plus direct drain close out the table. Szarel is a strong role-player, not the linchpin.
