Deck overview

This deck utilizes The Second Doctor as both a continuous card advantage engine and a diplomatic pillowfort deterrent. By offering symmetrical draws on end steps, the commander disincentivizes attacks against you while fueling your hand with answers, mana rocks, and combo components. The early turns focus on developing mana acceleration and defensive layers such as Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Rhystic Study. As opponents overextend with extra cards in hand, punishers like Smothering Tithe, Psychosis Crawler, and Iron Maiden generate immense resource disparity. The deck transitions into a decisive finish via compact self-mill combos—primarily Thought Lash paired with Thassa's Oracle, Laboratory Maniac, or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. Alternatively, it can lock opponents out of the game entirely with Narset, Parter of Veils and Teferi's Puzzle Box, protected by premier interaction like Silence, Grand Abolisher, and Fierce Guardianship.
