Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and tempo strategy built around Hylda of the Icy Crown. Rather than playing passive draw-go control, the list converts tap effects—traditionally low-impact utility spells—into massive board advantages. By tapping opponents' untapped creatures and paying {1}, Hylda generates 4/4 Elemental tokens, buffs the team with +1/+1 counters, or filters cards with scry and draw triggers. The deck uses repeatable tap pieces like Court Street Denizen, Timin, Youthful Geist, and Hylda's Crown of Winter to maintain constant pressure while keeping opposing attackers locked down. The win condition is combat-focused, overwhelming the table with large Elemental tokens and closing games via unblockable swings enabled by Bond of Discipline, Cone of Cold, or Blustersquall. While the deck dominates creature-heavy boards, its reliance on Hylda's presence and the requirement that opponents control tap targets make it vulnerable to creatureless decks and well-timed sweepers.
