Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Izzet Polymorph strategy commanded by Balmor, Battlemage Captain. Rather than playing small utility creatures, the 99 contains zero small creature cards, running only 8 devastating heavy hitters including Blightsteel Colossus, Void Winnower, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, and legendary Eldrazi titans. The game plan focuses on creating non-creature tokens in the first two turns with cards like Hard Evidence, Dragon Fodder, and Ral's Reinforcements. On Turn 3 or 4, the deck uses efficient fast mana to cast one of its 10 polymorph effects, guaranteeing a flip into an enormous threat. Backed by a dense suite of free and single-mana counterspells, the deck defends its cheat spells, suppresses opposing game plans, and closes out the table through lethal combat and devastating asymmetric attrition.
