Deck overview

This deck is an optimized competitive mono-black turbo combo deck helmed by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. The strategy centers on leveraging K'rrik's ability to pay life in place of black mana, rapidly deploying overwhelming card draw engines and executing compact infinite combos on Turns 2 to 3. Fast mana rituals and artifacts accelerate K'rrik onto the battlefield, immediately unlocking high-impact spells such as Peer into the Abyss, Necropotence, and Bolas's Citadel at negligible mana costs. The primary route to victory utilizes a two-card infinite combo with Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, draining all three opponents to zero life in a single turn through repeated magecraft triggers. Redundant tutors and reanimation lines involving Hoarding Broodlord provide reliable backup paths if the primary line is contested. While vulnerable to early creature removal, stack interaction, and stax pieces that restrict life payments, the deck's speed and density of win conditions make it a relentless, format-defining threat.
