Deck overview

This Izzet deck is an aggressive Pirate tribal and Treasure-centric strategy helmed by partner commanders Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Breeches, Brazen Plunderer. The primary game plan establishes an early evasive creature curve on Turns 1-3, deploying Malcolm on Turn 3 and Breeches on Turn 4 to convert combat connections into an overwhelming stream of Treasure mana and stolen opposing cards. This explosive mana velocity enables the deck to cast game-ending threats ahead of curve, including mass-combat enablers like Port Razer, table-wide theft via Insurrection, damage doubling with Angrath's Marauders, and one-sided clearing through Raise the Palisade. Additionally, the deck contains a lethal two-card infinite combo in Glint-Horn Buccaneer, which deals lethal damage to the table when activated during combat alongside Malcolm. While the deck possesses explosive acceleration and high synergy, it relies heavily on creature combat connections and is vulnerable to well-timed board wipes.
