Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered competitive tempo and burn list commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan leverages ultra-cheap evasive creatures on Turn 1 to cheat Yuriko onto the battlefield on Turn 2 via Commander ninjutsu. Because ninjutsu is an uncounterable ability that bypasses the commander tax, Yuriko provides an exceptionally resilient engine. On Turn 3 and Turn 4, the deck uses top-deck manipulation—including Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, and topdeck tutors—to place massive mana-value cards like Shadow of Mortality and Temporal Trespass on top of the library. Each unblocked Ninja trigger drains every opponent simultaneously while drawing replacement cards. Backed by the format's most efficient free countermagic and removal spells, the deck rapidly depletes table-wide life totals while defending its board. If the combat route is contested, the deck seamlessly pivots to a compact Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation finish.
