Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis Reanimator and control strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The game plan balances rapid mana acceleration, graveyard setup, and devastating reanimation targets. Early turns focus on establishing artifact ramp through signets, talismans, and fast mana pieces like Mana Vault and Dark Ritual, alongside incidental discard or self-mill from Overlord of the Balemurk, Doom Whisperer, and cycling cards. By Turn 4 to 5, the deck deploys game-ending threats including Archon of Cruelty, Toxrill, the Corrosive, or Valgavoth, Terror Eater using cheap reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Exhume, and Victimize. Sauron, the Dark Lord provides resilient ward protection, continuous Orc Army generation, and explosive hand-refill triggers when armies connect. Opponents face relentless asymmetric board attrition from Archfiend of Ifnir and Sheoldred, Whispering One, culminating in an evasive combat finish backed by Anger, Wonder, or mass reanimation via Living Death.
