Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Rat Tribal and Aristocrats strategy that leverages low-cost Rat synergy, graveyard recursion, and big-mana finishers. The early game focuses on deploying efficient Rats like Blightbelly Rat and Lord Skitter, Sewer King while developing mana through Cabal Coffers and sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar. By Turn 5, the deck establishes an engine with Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm or Marrow-Gnawer, pivoting on Turn 6 into massive unblockable combat pressure or devastating life drain via Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Torment of Hailfire. It also includes the compact two-card infinite combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond. While the deck excels at creature attrition and explosive mana generation, its heavy basic land count impairs Tainted Pact, and the lack of artifact or enchantment removal leaves it vulnerable to noncreature stax and combo pieces.
