Deck overview

This Grumgully, the Generous deck is a high-synergy Gruul combo and midrange deck built to abuse +1/+1 counter replacement effects. The primary win condition cancels out -1/-1 counters on persist creatures such as Lesser Masticore and Scuzzback Marauders. Paired with a free sacrifice outlet like Goblin Bombardment or Blasting Station, the persist creature enters with a +1/+1 counter from Grumgully, immediately nullifying the -1/-1 counter as a state-based action and enabling an infinite loop of direct damage to eliminate all three opponents in one turn. In addition, the deck includes the standalone two-card combo of Ivy Lane Denizen with Scurry Oak or Herd Baloth to generate infinite creature tokens and power. Dense early ramp ensures Grumgully enters by Turn 3, while efficient one-mana protective spells like Veil of Summer and Tamiyo's Safekeeping shield the combo pieces during the critical winning turn.
